We must make Route One safer

June 17, 2013

Could not agree more with your editorial. Does anyone see the speed at which cars come over the Nassau Bridge, endangering not only the business places along the way, but the many residents who try and get on to Route One to go south or north?

The 50 mph speed limit going down Route One is absurd with all the traffic that the road holds. In these days of increasing parking meters to make more money, a concentrated effort to maintain speed limits, and, or save lives would go along way in making our area safer all year long.
