AT&T contributes $10,500 to support Delawareans with disabilities
A $10,500 contribution from AT&T will support Kent-Sussex Industries’ transportation program, which offers adults with disabilities reliable transportation to workforce training services, as well as to and from their jobs.
The announcement was made at KSI’s 51st Annual Awards Dinner.
“KSI does a wonderful job of helping people with disabilities find jobs and participate in their communities,” said J. Michael Schweder, president, AT&T Mid Atlantic. “AT&T is thrilled to support KSI’s efforts to help disabled Delawareans have more reliable transportation to work and to job-training activities.”
Kent-Sussex Industries Inc. is a private, not-for-profit, vocational rehabilitation organization that serves the residents of Kent and Sussex counties and is governed by a volunteer board of directors.
“Support like this allows KSI to create and support employment opportunities for the people with disabilities that we serve,” said B. Craig Crouch, KSI's CEO. “I also believe this kind of support is a real indication of how committed AT&T is in making sure all citizens have the chance to be employed and become fully engaged in their communities.”
The mission of KSI is to assist people with disabilities in the pursuit of their potential in employment and meaningful participation in their communities. Originally known as the Golden Opportunity Center Inc., KSI was founded in 1962 with a grant from the Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens with Intellectual Disabilities.
