Delaware Americans for Democratic Action is hosting a free community film screening of the film "We’re Not Broke,"which premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, at 6 p.m., Thursday, June 27, in the Upper Screening Room at Movies at Midway.

The Christian Science Monitor reported, "'We're Not Broke' ranks No. 1 of the top five documentary films getting buzz at Sundance." Noah Nelson of The Huffington Post called the movie "essential viewing." The Salt Lake Tribune noted that "We're Not Broke" sheds light on tax dodging in a way that is "as thrilling as it is infuriating." Now Delawareans will have a chance to judge the film for themselves.

"We’re Not Broke" is a film that exposes the way that multinational corporations including Pfizer, Google, Forest Laboratories, Bank of America and Apple are permitted to cheat America out of 100s of billions of dollars in tax revenue. Delaware ADA is part of the national coalition Americans for Tax Fairness and has been actively engaged in grassroots advocacy throughout the state to ask Delaware’s Congressional delegation to end offshore tax dodging and invest in America’s future.

The film includes expert testimony from James Henry of the Tax Justice Network; Rebecca Wilkins of Citizens for Tax Justice; tax attorney and Tax Notes contributing editor Lee Sheppard; and former Wall Street tax attorney and USC law professor, Edward Kleinbard. Experts and activists featured in the film, and directors, are available for interviews. For more information on the movie, go to werenotbrokemovie.com.
