Lowe’s Home Improvement hosted its annual Kids Safety Day June 22 at Five Points, near Lewes. Local fire departments brought fire equipment and ambulance groups and children's organizations brought safety-themed information.
The helicopter, owned by Air Methods and flown by LifeNet out of Georgetown, was a big draw for many kids. The event was sponsored by SAFE KIDS Coalition, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing childhood injury.
LifeNet provides pilots while Christiana Hospital medical personnel staff the helicopter, which flies to all hospitals in the region.
