In Alex Moore's recent letter to the editor regarding correspondence from me printed June 14, he suggested that I do my homework. Well, perhaps he should, as well. I had no idea that letter was printed recently; it was originally sent to the Cape Gazette in May 2012, when it was current and accurate. He also accuses me of being a "disgruntled former board member." That's an old one, Alex; I have been called much more colorful things by your board members and staff. I have no "personal agenda."
While on the board, I saw horrific conditions at the shelter and, when I attempted to discuss them, was dismissed. Since then, I have been working individually and with an informal group calling for all shelters to be held accountable to the shelter standards, which are Delaware law. If Mr. Moore has problems with the notes we post after his board meetings, perhaps he should post the official minutes for the public to compare.
And finally, since the only reason I go to the KCSPCA shelter now is for the public meetings, the recent letter I received from them threatening to arrest me for trespassing if I come onto the property can only be seen as an attempt to circumvent FOIA.
