Lewes library board praises coverage

June 28, 2013

The Lewes Public Library Board thanks Henry Evans and the Cape Gazette for continued excellent coverage regarding the design phases of the new Lewes Public Library.

His June 25 article was especially thorough and Mr. Evans tried at length to remind the community that the exterior pictures are conceptual renderings at this time.

Indeed, these were the first exterior renderings that the Design Committee and the LPL Board had seen.  We ask the public to keep in mind that the drawings are the first concepts for the design committee to review and are not finalized plans.

The goal of the LPL and the design committee is a functional building which fits into the surrounding community at an affordable cost.

Beckie Healey
president, Lewes Public Library Board of Commissioners
