Bayhealth Auxiliary presents generous donation

July 1, 2013

A generous $150,000 donation was presented to the Bayhealth Foundation by the Milford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary at its June 5 annual luncheon.

In 2011, the Auxiliary made a pledge to donate $750,000 over the course of a five-year period. To date, the Auxiliary has donated $300,000 to be solely used for the new replacement campus in Milford.

"The Auxiliary is excited and happy to be able to make this contribution to our new hospital fund," said Auxiliary President Dr. Suzanne Donovan.

“Bayhealth continues to develop plans for the future Southern Region Health Campus,” said Michael Ashton, administrator of Milford Memorial. “Bayhealth is committed to excellence, and as part of the master facility planning, is thoroughly analyzing each detail to ensure the right facility will be available now and for many generations to come. The funds donated by the Auxiliary will allow Bayhealth to provide vital health services for this community for generations.”

When completed, the new facility will include a full-service community hospital with state-of-the-art inpatient and ambulatory care capabilities. One exciting element of this project is that all patient rooms will be private, which will allow for increased patient privacy and provide more space for family and provider-patient interaction.

In support of Bayhealth - Milford Memorial, the Auxiliary works tirelessly year after year on events and fundraisers. Events include the annual hospital fair and the Black & White Gala, as well as proceeds generated from Reflections Gift Shop at Milford Memorial.
