Robert 'Bob' Keating, university retiree

Robert “Bob” G. Keating of Lewes, formerly of Wilmington, died at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, Tuesday, June 25, 2013.

Bob was born in Wilmington, Dec. 25, 1938, to the late Ralph and Margaret (Braun) Keating, who survives him. He graduated from Alexis I. DuPont High School in 1958 and served in the U.S. Army in Korea. After being honorably discharged from the army he lived for many years in upstate New York. He returned to Delaware and retired from the University of Delaware in 1995. He has been a resident of Lewes since 1991.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Robert G. Keating II of Lake Worth, Fla.; a sister, Veronica “Ronnie” Ford of Millsboro; nieces Kathleen Ford and Melissa Morisch (Daniel) of Alexandria, Va.; nephew Patrick Ford (Jennifer) of Wilmington; two great-nephews, Gavin Ford and Cooper Morisch; and two great-nieces, Mia Ford and Samantha Morisch.

His family would like to thank his ex-wife Dorothy “Dee” Keating for all the love and support she provided Bob in the last year of his life.

Services and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in his name to The Home of the Brave Foundation Inc., 6632 Sharps Road, Milford, DE 19963.
