Charles and Lillian Menige celebrate 71st wedding anniversary

Charles and Lillian Menige of Rehoboth Beach celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary June 27.  The couple married at St. Phillip Neari Parish in Philadelphia.

Charles Menige is a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge in World War II and a member of the Midway Lions Club. Lillian Menige is a longtime hospital volunteer at Jeanes Hospital in Philadelphia and Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.

They have two children, Linda Hrynko, whose husband was the late Edward Hrynko of Philadelphia and Lewes, and Mame, wife of Dave Herbert of Lewes. Grandchildren are Charlotte Herbert Papaleo and her husband Harry Papaleo of Rehoboth Beach, David and Douglas Herbert, Heather Hrynko, and Melissa Hrynko-Wolfe and husband Mike Wolfe. Great-grandchildren are Lilliana Hrynko and Brandon and Chase Herbert Mears.
