Anna B. Long, Delmarva Power retiree

Anna B. Long, 92, of Millsboro passed away in the care of her family at home Monday, July 1, 2013.

Born in Aldan, Pa. to the late Ruth Shannon and Elmer A. Beyer, she was the eldest of eight children.

Ann moved to Delaware in 1938, and retired from Delmarva Power in 1984 after 25 years as secretary to the superintendent of Indian River Power Plant. She was a member of, and past president of the Indian River Yacht Club and Delmarva Power Vingt Cinq Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons: Lawrence W. Clausen Jr. “Larry” in 2003, and Ronald H. Clausen in 2011; one sister, four brothers; and two stepsons.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Robert H. Long of Millsboro; a granddaughter: Lori Ulmer, and her husband John of Bluffton, S.C.; two greatgrandsons: Nathan and Chase Ulmer; two sisters: Ruth Kent of Hartley and Marjorie Tuxward of Marydel. Also surviving: sisters-in-law: Alberta Beyer of Yuma, Ariz. and Carol Beyer of Harrington; stepdaughter: Ruth Patterson and husband Pat of Millsboro; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

 

A funeral service will be held at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, Saturday, July 6, at 11 a,m., where friends may call one hour prior. Pastor Carol Beyer will officiate. Interment follows in Dagsboro Redmen’s Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
