Austin Yoast DeNight, retired carpenter

Austin Yoast DeNight, 77, of Frankford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Monday, July 1, 2013, at his daughter’s home in Havertown, Pa.

He was born in Aston, Pa., Nov. 23, 1935, son of the late Israel and Katherine (Atkins) DeNight. Austin was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. DeNight retired as a self-employed carpenter and like hunting, fishing and being on the water.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Fogerty; and two sisters, Evelyn Sanderson and Margaret DiMatteo. Austin is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Barbara (Bryant) DeNight; two daughters, Danielle DeNight and Valerie Sullivan; five sons, Danny DeNight, Bruce A. Bunting, Franklin Bunting, Bill Rogers and Kevin Rogers; three sisters, Kathleen Reid, Pauline Hughes and Lori Young; a brother, Owen Howard DeNight; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, Monday, July 8, at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, where a funeral service will begin at noon. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Berlin, Md.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Austin’s name to Crossroads Hospice, 523 Plymouth Road, Suite 225, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
