LYC swimmers top tough Seaford team

July 8, 2013

The Lewes Yacht Club swim team remained undefeated with a 290-253 victory July 1 over Seaford Swim Association. In the close meet, LYC's depth in the relays turned out to be the difference as the team won eight of the 12 freestyle relays and six of the 10 medley relays.

LYC swimmers had to fight hard to overcome the tough Venables family of swimmers from Seaford. Three family members won eight races in three different age groups.

For LYC, two swimmers were triple individual winners: Evan Burris, in 6-and-under boys, won the backstroke, freestyle and breaststroke; and in 9-10 girls, Madison Conrad won the freestyle, butterfly and 100-meter IM. She also swam on two winning relay teams.
