Many to thank for Picnic in the Park success

July 14, 2013

The Friends of the Lewes Canalfront Park want to thank everyone who braved the heat and came to the Second A annual Picnic in the Park. We hope you had a great time! We’ve heard so many great things from those who attended and we have so many people to thank for making it all happen.

First and foremost, our amazing Lewes restaurants! We are so fortunate to have so many fabulous dining options here in Lewes, and for this special day they took their culinary masterpieces and brought them all together in one location: Agave, Annabella’s Italian Restaurant, Café Azafran, The Buttery, Gilligan’s, Half Full, Irish Eye’s, Kindle, Lewes Bake Shoppe, Rose & Crown, Striper Bites, Touch of Italy & 2 Dips Ice Cream.

A huge thank you to our main sponsors Schell Brothers and The Inn at Canal Square who showed their incredible support of this event for a second year.

We couldn’t do it without out all of our sponsors: Lewes AutoMall, The Cape Gazette, Kid’s Cottage, Prudential Gallo Realtors, The LeeAnn Wilkinson Group, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Jack Lingo Realtors, R&L Liquors and Russ Palmer Builders. Local businesses who also came on board: Active Adults Realty, Below Book Auto, CJ’s Beach Bays, Clean Cut Pavers, Fehrenbach Floors, Griswold Home Care, Henlopen Appliance, Lewes Cycle Sports, Lewes Printing, Lewes Realty, Long & Foster, Truitt Nationwide Insurance, Sign-A-Rama, State Farm-Jeannie O’Donnell and Tootie’s Poop Patrol.

The City of Lewes gave us tremendous support: Elaine Pease, Paul Eckrich, street maintenance deptartment, Police and EMS, Lewes Chamber of Commerce and all our city officials.

And finally, what is an event without volunteers?! And we had the best of the best, including the “Tentations.” You were all amazing!

The entire board of the Friends of the Lewes Canalfront Park thanks you all and we look forward to seeing you in the park!
