Pink Day Weekend at East Coast Garden Center to raise funds for breast cancer research

July 16, 2013

East Coast Garden Center in Millsboro will join with garden centers across the U.S. this month in hosting Pink Day to raise funds for breast cancer research. The East Coast Garden Center event will be held Saturday and Sunday, July 20-21, and will include giveaways, a raffle, pink refreshments, and great deals on plants.

Be sure to come dressed in pink and look for the new Invincibelle Spirit pink hydrangea! For every plant sold, $1 is donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Like the women who have survived breast cancer, this new hydrangea is resilient and can withstand extreme conditions. It blooms from mid-summer to fall, even after harsh winters, making it a wonderful pink addition to the garden and a fitting tribute to women who have fought the battle against breast cancer.

This event is part of the Invincibelle Spirit Campaign to raise $1 million for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Since its introduction in 2009, $1 from every Invincibelle Spirit hydrangea sold has been donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. With these funds and those from Pink Days, fundraisers hosted by garden centers across the U.S. and Canada, over $640,000 has been donated so far - and the campaign is still going strong.

East Coast Garden Center is located at 30366 Cordrey Road, Millsboro, just nine miles west of the intersection of Route 1 and 24. Follow Route 24 west to Mt. Joy Road, turn right onto Mt. Joy and then left onto Cordrey Road. The garden center is a half mile down Cordrey Road on the left. For information, call 302-945-5853.
