James 'Bud' Noe, naval aviator

James E. “Bud” Noe, born Dec. 17, 1939, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, July 9, 2013, after a brief illness.

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and captain, he will be immensely missed by all.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rosemary; his children Marianne (Eric) Guest, Catherine (Tim) Peterson, James (Kelly) Noe, and Michael (Camie) Noe; and 11 grandchildren.  He is also survived by his mother, Edith; and preceded in death by his father James; sister Curaleen; and brother Timothy.

Bud graduated from the University of Maryland and served as a naval aviator, flying off the U.S.S. Essex for five years. He married Rosemary in 1964, and was a proud and happy pilot with American Airlines for 30 years. Bud enjoyed his retirement, spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, boating and finding great camaraderie and friendship in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a faithful member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Bethany Beach. Bud leaves his loved ones and friends with a legacy of selflessness, kindness, humor and passion for life that will never be forgotten.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 15, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 35318 Church Road, off Route 17, Frankford, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Entombment will be private at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Dagsboro. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Clarksville Chapel, Ocean View.
