Scott E. Hilligoss, self-employed contractor
Scott E. Hilligoss, 66, of Broadkill Beach passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. Scott was born in Lebanon, Pa., the son of the late Robert and Ella (Hawkins) Hilligoss.
Scott was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a self employed contractor. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Quentin, Pa. and the Milton VFW Post. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Karyl Hilligoss; and stepmother Ardelle Hilligoss.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Melinda Felty Hilligoss; children, Ed Hilligoss and wife Debbie, Michael Hilligoss and wife Tina, and Melissa Mulveny and husband Jeff; seven grandchildren, Matthew Hilligoss, Abbey Hilligoss, Dylan Hilligoss, Brock Hilligoss, Brynley Mulveny, Josey Mulveny and Maycey Mulveny; brother, Kenny McPherson; and sisters, Jackie Keene and Barbara Hatami.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 19, at 7 p.m., in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m.
