Booker Street Church of God to host tent services, anti-drug rally Aug. 13 to 18

Everlasting Hope Ministries announces the schedule for this year’s 20th Annual Tent Services which will be held starting at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, Aug. 13 to 15 and Aug. 17 on the grounds of the Booker Street Church of God in Georgetown. There will also be two Sunday services,11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., on Aug. 18

The purpose of these meetings is to encourage individuals whose lives are adversely affected by drugs or alcohol.  A guest speaker will present a timely message nightly to inspire and challenge those in attendance not only to resist drugs and alcohol, but also to strive for individual excellence through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The speakers are as follows: Tuesday - Bishop Jamie Hazzard from Welcome Full Gospel Holiness Church in Slaughter Neck; Wednesday - Bishop Roland Mifflin from Power & Love Outreach Ministries in Millsboro; Thursday - Pastor Helena Bailey from New Life Family Ministries in Millsboro; Sunday morning - Bishop Marvin Morris, host and pastor of Booker Street Church of God; and Sunday evening - Pastor Arlene Taylor from Chosen Generation Ministries in Grasonville, Md. Annual community anti-drug rally, march and Fun Day Aug. 17

The 20th Annual Community Anti-Drug Rally and March will be held Saturday, Aug. 17. The march will begin at 11 a.m. on the grounds of the Booker Street Church of God on Booker Street near the Richard Allen School.

The march will return to the church grounds, where Fun Day activities will be held from noon until 5 p.m.  There will be games, singing, food, dunking booth, moon bounce, train rides, drill teams, creative dance and much more.  Since all items are given away free of charge, donations of any kind - monetary or otherwise - are welcome to help defray costs.
