Elizabeth 'Bette' Zombek, retired salesperson

Elizabeth “Bette” L. Zombek, 72, of Millsboro, formerly of West Berlin, N.J., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

Bette was born in Camden, N.J., Feb. 3, 1941, daughter of the late Jack and Mildred (Johnson) Joseph. She had served as a salesperson in automotive advertising with the Courier Post for nine-and-a-half years and also with the Gloucester County Times. After moving to Delaware she began working for Lenox in Rehoboth Beach before retiring in April, 2013.

Mrs. Zombek was a member of Grace of God Lutheran Church in Millsboro, and a member of the Long Neck CHEER Center. Bette will always be remembered as a talented artist, gardener and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband of 51-and-a-half years, Martin F. Zombek; two children, Kathleen (Brian) Cini of Lewes, and Scott Zombek of Marlton, N.J.; four grandchildren, Alyssa and Kerstie Cini and Zachary and Brandon Zombek; a brother, Frank (Mary) Joseph of New Jersey; and two close friends, Norma (Jay) Berman and Eddie Eslack, all of New jersey.

A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, July 27, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends and family may call after 11 a.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Bette’s name to the Tunnell Cancer Center, 18941 John J. Williams Hwy., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, or the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
