When Robert Randolph returned to the Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach recently for a performance, his fans played too.

After inviting women in the audience to join him onstage for "Shake Your Hips," Randolph -- an acclaimed pedal steel guitarist who has been voted one of Rolling Stone's top 100 guitarists and toured with legends like Eric Clapton -- brought local guitar hero Jake Banaszak, of Lower Case Blues, to the stage for the band's encore performance.

Shredding through several songs with Randolph, this was not Banaszak's first time performing for big crowds. Lower Case Blues played at the inaugural Firefly festival in 2012 and picks up gigs throughout the region year-round.

Maxing out on audience participation at the show, Randolph pulled a bachelorette party onstage, along with some men in the audience who had a chance to grab a guitar and jam with the band.

After the show, Randolph and members of the Family Band were spotted around Dewey, closing up local watering holes and entertaining fans.

Robert Randolph and the Family Band, which includes members of the guitarist's real family and guitarist Brett Haas, recently released a new album, Lickety Split, available on Amazon, iTunes and at local retailers.
