Rebecca F. Brown, DuPont Country Club retiree

Mrs. Rebecca F. Brown, known fondly as "Betty," 87, of Newark, passed away Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013.

A native Delawarean, Mrs. Brown was born in Wilmington April 13, 1926, daughter of the late Leroy S. Miller and Mabel I. Stewart Miller. She was employed as an administrative assistant in the human resources department of the DuPont Country Club until her retirement.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter A. Brown; her greatgrandson, Jaeger Wayne Murray; and her brother, Master Chief Roy Miller Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly L. Murray and husband Ken of Lewes; son, Wayne A. Brown and wife Sue of Chesapeake City, Md.; sister, Lois McMonigle and husband Bill of Lewes; grandchildren, Shawn Murray and wife Lisa of Middletown, EOD Chief Michael Murray and wife Amna of Virginia Beach, Va., Ken Murray Jr. of New Jersey, Wayne Brown Jr. of Wilmington, and Ashley Brown and husband Casey Hodge of Venice, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, Friday, Aug. 9, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Pkwy., New Castle. Services and burial will be held privately.
