Leona P. Jester, Stockley retiree

Leona P. Jester, 94, of Georgetown, passed away Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at the home of her daughter.

Leona worked as a CNA at Stockley Center in Georgetown for 27 years, retiring in 1984.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Maggie Lofland; and her husband of 52 years: Norman L. Jester.

Leona is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Metz and husband Edward, and June Gravenor; four grandchildren, Bruce Gravenor and wife Dana, Leona Davis and husband Mark, Charlotte Rittner, Michael Metz and wife Marty; five great-grandchildren, Lois Ann, Andrew, Ashley, Mark James and Sean; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Monday, Aug. 19, at 1 p.m. in Old Paths Church of Christ, 18249 Redden Road, Georgetown, with visitation after noon. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the church or the Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
