Shirley Ann Dennis, loved reading
Shirley Ann (Collins) Dennis, 51, of Georgetown, went home to be with the Lord Friday, Aug. 9, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Abbott and Ruth Virginia (King) Collins of Georgetown.
Shirley loved reading, crafting, card games, yard sales, caring for her animals and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her companion, Carlie Austin, of Redden; her dear friend, Marguerite June of Georgetown; a daughter, Chelsea Dennis and her fiancé Ian Lehrer and their daughter Claire of Milton; two sons, Ernest Jacob Blakeney, his fiancé Nicky Paynter and their children, Audrey, Robbie, Mikey and Alyssa, and James Robert Blakeney, all of Quinlan, Texas; a brother, James Collins and wife Terry of Georgetown; and two nieces, LeeAnn Collins Troxler, her husband Shane and their children, Jace and Ashlyn of Seaford and Jessica Collins Rogers, her husband Shawn and their children Drake and Tripp of Georgetown.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 15, at noon in Bethesda U.M. Church, 25073 Bethesda Road, Georgetown, DE 19947.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are being accepted at Short Funeral Services, PO Box 233, Milton, DE 19968, to assist with the funeral expenses.
