Indian River schools to host open houses in August and September

Schools in the Indian River district will host a series of open houses during the months of August and September.

Open houses will allow students and parents to meet teachers and staff, view class lists and tour school buildings. A number of schools will host multiple sessions during a three-week period, with each session catering to a different grade level. Consult the list below for dates and times.

The 2013-14 school year begins Tuesday, Sept. 3.

The open house schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, Aug. 21:  Sussex Central High School, International Baccalaureate Orientation, grade 11, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 28: Southern Delaware School of the Arts, all grades, 5-7 p.m.; North Georgetown Elementary, kindergarten, 5 p.m. at Georgetown Elementary School; Georgetown Elementary, kindergarten, 5 p.m.; Long Neck Elementary, kindergarten, 5 p.m.; East Millsboro Elementary, prekindergarten and kindergarten, 5 p.m.; Selbyville Middle School, grades 7 and 8, 5:30-7 p.m.; Georgetown Middle School, grade 6, 6 p.m.; Sussex Central High School, freshman orientation, 6 p.m.; Millsboro Middle School, orientation for grades 7 and 8, 6 p.m.; East Millsboro Elementary, grades 1 and 2, 6 p.m.; East Millsboro Elementary, grades 3 to 5, 7 p.m.
