The American University volleyball team from Washington, D.C. opened its preseason workouts at Cape Henlopen High School Aug. 12. The team split practices between the sands of Lewes Beach and the Vikings gymnasium where they are preparing to do battle in the tough Division I Patriot League Conference. The American University spikers will open season play Friday, Aug. 30, against Howard University in the D.C. Volleyball Challenge.
