Georgetown man shot during home invasion

Georgetown police arrested a 36-year-old Georgetown man after they say he was part of a group who broke into a home Aug. 15 and shot a resident.

A group entered a home at 11:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Kimmey Street to rob the resident, according to a Georgetown Police Department press release.

The resident was shot once before police arrived; police said they found Donta E. Vickers in the area.

Vickers was charged with first-degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, home invasion, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited and second-degree conspiracy.
