Vansciver thanks supporters for kindness

August 24, 2013

On Dec. 14, 2012, I had my first knee operation. Spacer & rehab - six weeks. Back to operating room, another spacer and six weeks of rehab due to infection in the left knee. Then, April 8, 2013, the final operation, no infection – yeah! The knee replacement was a success.

The one blessing for me that kept me going was the many friends who called, sent cards and flowers, and prayed for me.

Sussex Family YMCA Director Terry Rasberry sent flowers, called and came to visit when I was in Delaware rehab. The chair yoga class sent cards and kept each other informed of my progress. My church group, the Columbiettes, my former church group at St. Matthew’s in New Castle County, my niece’s Pentecostal Church, my friend's nondenominational church - that's why I am here today at age 81. Please continue to pray, call and drop cards, for my journey isn't over yet. I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.
