Delaware State Police arrested two Laurel men in connection with drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop Aug. 21 in Long Neck.
Police stopped the car for a moving violation at 4:36 p.m. near the Shoppes of Long Neck Boulevard, said Cpl. John Day of the Delaware State Police.
The driver, Michael A. Lowe, 22, did not have a valid driver's license and was wanted on a capias, Day said.
Police took Lowe into custody and found 18 oxycodone pills and $243 in cash. When police asked passenger Klin C. Gootee, 23, to get out of the car, Day said, Gootee stuffed a bag he had been sitting on under the car seat.
The bag contained a loaded .32-caliber revolver; under the seat, police found a .22-caliber revolver with an obliterated serial number, a bag containing 5.55 grams of marijuana and 13 bags of heroin. While searching Gootee, Day said, police found 1.97 grams of marijuana, an oxycodone pill, 42 bags of heroin weighing 1.05 grams and $216 cash.
Both men were charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited and other drug and weapons charges. Lowe also was charged with traffic offenses.
Lowe was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $71,525 cash bail; Gootee was committed on $57,000 cash bail.
