Alice B. Conner, loved the beach

Alice Beryl Conner, 59, of Millsboro, and formerly of Orangeville, Pa., died suddenly Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at the Beebe Medical Center Emergency Room in Lewes. She had been a resident of Millsboro since 2000.

Born April 27, 1954, at Bloomsburg Hospital, she was a daughter of Mary Lou (George) Conner of Orangeville and the late Haurice J. Conner.

She was a 1972 graduate of Central Columbia High School and was a member of the Orangeville United Church. She was also a member of the AMVETS Post 22 Ladies Auxiliary of Long Neck.

Alice worked as a secretary/dispatcher for Waste Industries in Millsboro. Prior to that she had been employed by Bloomsburg Carpet. She also worked at the Dot Cigarette Outlet in Lewes and Moor Disposal in Rehoboth.

Her hobbies included scrapbooking and card making. She was especially known for her love of the beach.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her companion, Ricky D. Karns, Millsboro; a brother, James Conner and his wife Betty of Stillwater, Pa.; two sisters, Ruth Ann Strauser and her husband David of Orangeville, and Stella Longenberger and her husband Harvey Jr. of Berwick, Pa.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 16, at the McMichael Funeral Home Inc., Benton, Pa. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 31, at Massey's Landing off Long Neck Road near the marina on Ida Faucett's property.
