In this economy it is becoming increasingly difficult for the average family to spend extra money on donations to organizations that help the needy during their times of trials. At the same time, more and more families find themselves in need. Realizing this, crafters and vendors from the area are joining together to run a craft show dedicated to helping local friends obtain the food items they need to keep their families comfortable during the colder months ahead.
On Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., rain or shine, these crafters and vendors will gather to hold a “Feeding our Friends” Crafts and Collectibles Show at the Super Giant Supermarket, 22 Lighthouse Plaza, Coastal Highway, Route 1 North, in Rehoboth. The space for the show has been generously donated by Super Giant.
Judy Heatly, co-coordinator and spokesperson for the event, hopes that “it will be successful and will be attended by those in the community who are anxious to do their part in helping provide food for our local friends in need.”
All monies received from the vendors for their booths will be donated to the Cape Henlopen Food Basket. In addition, grocery carts will be placed at the entrance to the store for shoppers to fill with donations as they do shopping for their own families.
“We are looking for additional crafters and vendors to participate in what should be a fun-filled and productive day” said Heatly. Crafters and vendors may contact Heatly at 302-947-2705 for additional information or to obtain an application. Spaces may be reserved for $25/space for crafters and collectible spaces and $50/space for food vendors.
