Violet West Stout, retired floral arranger

Violet A. West Stout, 98, of Georgetown passed away Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at Harrison Senior Living in Georgetown.

Violet was born the daughter of the late Albert H. and Ethel M. (Tyre) Daisey. She was a designer for many years with Givens Florist in Georgetown. Violet was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she was also a member of the Willing Striver's Class. She always did the flowers for the vases and took care of the flowers on the grounds at church. Violet was also a member of the exercise group at the CHEER Center.

In addition to both parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Ernest A. West and Henry A. Stout; and a brother, Harvey Daisey. She is survived by her son, Donald E. West and his wife Noreen of Wilmington; and a grandson, Timon (Ti) C. West of Los Angeles., Calif.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 30, at Grace U.M. Church, 7 S. King Street, Georgetown, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Grace U.M. Church, Flower Fund, 7 S. King St., Georgetown, DE 19947. Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
