Nursing Assistant Program to begin September 30, 2013

The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Medical Center will offer a Nursing Assistant Class beginning Monday, September 30, 2013 and ending December 12, 2013. 

 

The classroom portion of the class will take place Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Beebe Office Building (BOB), Room 5. The clinical experience will be at Harbor Healthcare and Rehabilitation on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays from 6:50 am to 3:30 pm. 

The cost of the program is $1,900, which includes the cost of the course and clinical fees, the textbook, and the Nursing Assistant Certification Examination fee.   Additional, there will be a fee of $69 for fingerprinting and a fee of $22 for CPR certification.  To be admitted to the program, a student must have a high school diploma (or GED), and successfully complete the Criminal Background, OIG, Adult and Child Registry checks, and a drug screen.

The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing, at Beebe Medical Center, is the only hospital-based nursing program in Delaware, and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).  The diploma in Professional Nursing is awarded at the completion of the curriculum, qualifying graduates to be eligible for National Council of State Boards of Nursing NCLEX examination, leading to licensure.  Beebe graduates have one of the highest NCLEX pass rates in the state and can complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Wilmington University and University of Delaware through well-defined articulation agreements.
