Walk to End Alzheimer's Oct. 12 in Rehoboth
September 10, 2013

The employees of G & E Inc. and Hocker’s Super Center in Ocean View and Millville support the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter each year by selling paper forget-me-nots for a dollar each in memory of or in honor of someone who has or had any type of dementia. The campaign ran from July 1 through Aug. 3 this year with tremendous success. In addition, Store Manager Ron Holloway organized a bake sale that was held Aug. 3.

Shown presenting the checks totaling $2,169.46 to Jamie Magee, Sussex County program coordinator for the Alzheimer’s Association, is Delaware Sen. Gerald Hocker, R-Ocean View, owner of Hocker’s Stores. Magee said, “The Alzheimer’s Association is very grateful for the continued support of Hocker’s stores and their support of local programs and services.”

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, at Grove Park in Rehoboth Beach with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. There is no registration fee, and anyone can register online at www.alz.org/desjsepa or by calling Jamie Magee at 302-854-9788 or toll free at 800-272-3900.
