St. John's in Milford to hold 23rd German Oktoberfest Oct. 4 and 5

St. John’s German 23rd Annual Oktoberfest will begin at 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 4 and continue at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at St. John’s Catholic Church on the corner of Seabury Avenue and School Place in Milford.

Festivities will kick off on Friday evening at 6 p.m. with The Funsters.

Oktoberfest international food court will be serving up traditional German entrees, along with Italian, Hispanic, Polish, Filipino, homemade crab cakes, hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, Italian ice and homemade baked desserts.

On Saturday the festivities begin at 10 a.m. with arts and crafts, White Elephant Sale, helicopter rides, more than 100 homemade desserts and entertainment throughout the day.

For the kids there will be games galore, including inflatables like the slide, moon walk and obstacle course. There will also be pony rides and a petting zoo.

Joe Kroboth and his orchestra will entertain on Saturday afternoon along with the Enzian German dancers and the Irish School of Dancing.

On Saturday evening at 6 p.m. a new band, Triple Shot, will take center stage to wrap up the weekend.
