Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park say thanks

September 13, 2013

Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park are pleased with the success of our recent chocolate tasting in the park. On a beautiful Saturday more than 440 guests arrived throughout the afternoon to sample our delectable chocolate tastings.

Our all-volunteer event raised more than $3,000 to support our education fund.  The fund provides Sussex County students scholarships and funding for youth to come into the park and participate in nature programs provided by Cape Henlopen State Park staff at the Nature Center.

We are fortunate to have support from the  community businesses who assist us in making the event a success: Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Kilwins Chocolates, Teller Wines, Walmart, Walgreen’s of Rehoboth, Food Lion - Rehoboth, Giant - Rehoboth, Outlet Liquors, R&L Liquors, Safeway, Annabella’s, The Bake Shop, and Creative Crumbs Bake Shoppe.

Our volunteers are great bakers and it was wonderful to have such a variety of baked treats.  If you missed our event this year, you can look forward to next Sept. 6, 2014.  You may wish to contact Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park at www.friendsofcapehenlopen.org for a listing of all events and activities.
