September 9, 2013

Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Sept. 8 in Milford.

Jeffrey A. White, 52, of Georgetown was riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson at 10:24 p.m. southbound on Route 113 north of Marvel Road, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.

White was speeding and aggressively passing slower-moving traffic, Fournier said.

Brian L. Williams, 34, of Laurel was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Blazer in the left lane when White tried to pass him from the right lane and struck the Blazer's right front fender, Fournier said.

The motorcycle overturned and ejected White onto the roadway where he was pronounced dead, Fournier said.

Williams turned his Blazer abruptly after the impact and it overturned on its left side in the median.

Williams was properly restrained and not injured, Fournier said.

White was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Route 113 was closed for about five hours during the accident investigation.
