Cape school board meets Sept. 12
The Cape Henlopen school board will hold its regular meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12, in the cafeteria of Mariner Middle School in Milton. Superintendent Robert Fulton will give a presentation on the Slam Dunk to the Beach Basketball Tournament. Board members also will hear an update on the new school application.
Milton historic committee meets
The Milton Historic Preservation Committee will meet at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the Milton Public Library. The group will discuss an application for exterior repairs and renovation to the structure located at 306 Union St. Committee members will also review Section 220-21 of town code pertaining to the installation of television antennas or similar devices in the town’s historic district. Milton economic committee meets
The Milton Economic Development Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12, in the conference room at WBOC, located at 1 The Square. The group will get an overview of Sussex County economic development from the county’s EDC Director Julie Wheatley. Committee members will also brainstorm new initiatives for the group and discuss October and Christmas events. For more information, call town hall at 302-684-4110.
Weather sensor being installed on inlet bridge
The installation of a weather sensor will require a temporary lane closure on the Charles W. Cullen Bridge over the Indian River Inlet. Transportation officials said the southbound right lane and shoulder will be closed from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 16, and Tuesday, Sept. 17. The sensor will monitor the amount of salt on the roadway.
Comment period continues for proposed wildlife regs
The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control’s Division of Fish & Wildlife is accepting public comments through Thursday, Sept. 19, on the state’s proposed wildlife regulation changes for non-native wildlife, including coyotes and other species. All comment directed to DNREC during this time will be included in the public record compiled for the proposed regulations.
The proposed amending of 7 DE Administrative Code 3900 (Wildlife) can be found at regulations.delaware.gov/default.shtml.
