Joyce Zagame, Manhattan native

Joyce Zagame, 84, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Mattapoisett, Mass., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.

Joyce was born in Manhattan, N.Y., daughter of the late Martin and Theresa Heiler. She married and moved to Boston to raise her family with late husband Paul E. Zagame.

She is survived by a son, Steven Zagame of Boylston, Mass.; daughter, Joyce Jason of Millsboro, formerly of Marlborough, Mass.; a sister, Teresa S. Janis of Venice; grandsons, Mark Zagame of Kennesaw, Ga., Scott Zagame of Canton, Mass., Ryan Jason of Virginia Beach, Va., and Adam Jason of Farmington, Conn.; a granddaughter, Alessandra Zagame of Boylston; three great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters.

A private memorial service will be held in Delaware.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Joyce’s memory to The Lighthouse of Manasota, 7318 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34243, or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2 Mill Road, Suite 106, Wilmington, DE 19806, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
