Support group for divorce, separation, or partnership break-up begins at Epworth Sept. 15

September 12, 2013

Beginning Sunday, Sept. 15, Epworth United Methodist Church will offer a 13-week support group which is open to all who are feeling the hurt, pain and isolation that may come with divorce, separation or the break-up of a caring or loving relationship. The group will provide a warm and caring environment in which members can share and discuss feelings, emotions and experiences. Participants will discover that they are not alone, and that there are others that share the same or similar experiences.

The group will meet weekly on Sunday evenings from 6 ro 8 p.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church, located at 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach. To register or obtain additional information, contact Marti Garrett at dlgarrett@verizon.net.

“Discovering that anger, depression, guilt loneliness, financial survival, challenges with family and friends, and establishing new relationships are common issues in divorce, separation and the break-up of all loving relationships. We hope to provide participants constructive suggestions for dealing with, and responding to, these situations; and introduce them to strategies they can use to begin the process of healing and moving-on.” said the Rev. Dr. Patricia Loughlin. The group will be led by individuals that understand what participants are experiencing, and will present videos and other material that will cover many topics that are essential to spiritual and emotional healing.
