Charles H. Farwell, 78, years young of Millsboro, formerly of Newark, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.
“Good Time Charlie” was born in Wilmington, March 30, 1935, son of the late Franklin and Marion Farwell. He was a truck driver all his life starting with Sunbeam Bread Company and retired from Mopar Chrysler. Charlie had a perfect safety driving record throughout his career. He was an avid golfer (winning his last game) and loved living near the beach.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Franklin, Harold and William Farwell. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, a loving wife of 33 years, Thelma Keithley Farwell; a daughter, Ruth Hughes of North East, Md.; two sons, Charles (Susan) Ogle of San Antonio, Texas and Timothy Farwell of Phoenix, Ariz.; and stepson Dan (Mary Ellen) Keithley of Havre de Grace, Md.; a brother, Alfred (Betty) Farwell of Orange, Texas; five grandchildren, William and Rachel Hughes, Danielle and Sarah Keithley and Lorraine (Brian) Ransleben; two great-grandsons, Zach and Nate; his two canine companions, Danny and Mikey and a host of many beloved friends.
A gathering will be held at a later date to be determined by the family.
