Motorcyclist killed in Millsboro crash

September 15, 2013

Millsboro Police were dispatched Sept. 14 to the southbound lane of Route 113 at the intersection of Route  24 for a report of a serious crash involving a motorcycle. Responding officers along with the fire police shut down the southbound lane of Route 113. The operator of the motorcycle, 30-year-old Abingdon, Md. resident Adedoylin Ademiluyi was removed to a local hospital where she died from injuries she sustained in the crash.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Ademiluyi was traveling southbound operating a Yamaha sport bike at a high rate of speed. Ademiluyi failed to stop for a red signal on Route 113 southbound and traveled into the intersection, striking a vehicle making a legal turn onto Route 113 northbound from Route 24 eastbound.

The roadway was shut down at approximately 4:30 p.m. and traffic was detoured for approximately three-and-a-half hours; the roadway was reopened at approximately 8 p.m.

Preliminary investigation indicates that speed is believed to be a primary contributing factor; impairment is undetermined at this time.

Information associated with the other vehicle is not available at this time.
