Groome Goes Back to church

September 29, 2013

Groome United Methodist Church of Lewes held its Back to Church Celebration the weekend of Sept. 14-15.

Back to Church Sunday is part of a national movement of churches across America that seeks to reach people who once attended church but don’t any more, as well as those who have never attended.

A free lunch of barbecued chicken and hot dogs was provided. Last Call Motorcycle Ministry performed music in the parking lot.

There was a prayer wall, children's games, face painting crafts. Hazel Brittingham, Lewes historian and Groome member, conducted guided tours of the church.
