September 23, 2013

Delaware State Police arrested a Georgetown man Sept. 20 they say stole farm equipment from a Harbeson farm.

Robert L. Storms Jr., 22, was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools, two counts of theft under $1,500 and victim over 62, criminal mischief and two counts of third-degree criminal trespass. He was released on $10,700 unsecured bond.

Police circulated an image of the suspected burglar from a surveillance camera; several people contacted police identifying Storms, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.

Police said Storms drove through a bean field in the 20000 block of Beaver Dam Road in the early morning hours of Aug. 30 and Sept. 10.

On the farm, he removed batteries from a tractor and forklift and cut a lock off a gas pump before taking an unknown amount of gasoline, Fournier said.
