The Schell Brothers company unveiled its new home design center on Friday, Sept. 20. The design center is located on the ground floor of Schell Brothers new corporate headquarters, fronting on Route 1 at 20184 Phillips St., across the street from Big Fish Grill in Rehoboth.

It features model rooms interspersed with rooms filled with displays of building materials and finished products including cabinets, carpet and hardwood flooring, counter tops including dozens of granite samples, tiles, plumbing fixtures and more.

The center also has a full wall of illustrations showing building systems, energy-saving technology and other features that Schell Brothers say sets their new custom homes apart from those of other builders. On the walls of the connecting hallways are dozens of photographs of new homes built by the company.

Chris Schell, president of Schell Brothers, said the company continues to focus on the happiness of its employees and its customers.

“Not long ago we were approached by a company that felt we could be successful expanding into the national market and offered to help us to move in that direction,” said Schell. “We thought about it but decided that while expanding might have been profitable, we didn't think it would contribute to our happiness, or the happiness of our employees or our customers. Flying all over the place, away from our friends and families – that didn't appeal to us. We like it right here where we can live and play and work.”
