Larry 'Sadie' Holston, George & Lynch retiree

Larry Reese “Sadie” Holston, 82, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, in Bayhealth at Milford Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Stockley, son of the late Larry Elmer and Edith Mae (West) Holston.

Sadie was a heavy equipment operator with George & Lynch for many years, retiring in 1998. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Earnhardt Sr. He loved all sports and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, N.Y. Yankees and horse racing. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by four siblings, Margaret Willey of Milton, Elwood Holston of Georgetown, Charles R. Holston and wife Pat, also of Georgetown, and Virginia Molloy of Millsboro; six nephews: Wayne Holston, Michael Holston, Alvin Holston, Wade Willey, Sean Molloy and Greg Donaway; and a niece: Karen Franklin.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, with visitation after noonm. Burial will be in Millsboro Cemetery.

At the request of the family, casual attire is encouraged; please come as you are in Sadie’s honor.
