The Vikings freshman football team met the visiting Lake Forest Spartans Sept. 25 on the Legends Stadium turf, and when the battle was complete, Cape scored a decisive 33-0 victory.

Robbie Neall scored two touchdowns of 20 and 17 yards. Eric Stancofski ran for a 35-yard touchdown, while Raiquan Mosley and Jerry Harden added single scores. Richard Carey added three PATs for the Vikings.

Tommy Heffernan and Kevin Mumford each had an interception on the defensive side. Jaso Lopez tallied four tackles on the day, while Cory Lawson got to the Spartans' quarterback twice for sacks and racked up four individual tackles and three assists.

"We played a heck of a defensive game," said coach Bo Gooch. "We were ahead 7-0 at halftime when we made a few offensive adjustments and had a better second half."

The Cape coach also praised the Spartans team for their efforts.

"Lake Forest had a lot of heart and played hard all the way through the game,"  said Gooch.

The Vikings are 3-0 on the season and will host the Riders of Caesar Rodney Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 4 p.m.
