Ralph E. Domenic, proud U.S. veteran

Ralph Edward Domenic, 84, of Milton, passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at his late residence. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Jan. 21, 1929, son of the late Ralph E. Domenic and Helene (Alberts) Domenic. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan S. Domenic, in 1993; and two brothers, Robert and Ronald Domenic.

Mr. Domenic proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1946-47 and then entered the U.S. Army, from which he retired in 1967 after 21 years of service. During his time in the service he was a helicopter pilot and served during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Following his military career he worked as an engineer for Boeing Helicopter for 22 years in Ridley Park, Pa., where he retired in 1989.

Mr. Domenic was a member of the American Helicopter Society and American Legion Post 28, and former member of the Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years this month, Rhoda (Kline) Domenic; his son, Ralph E. Domenic and wife Jan of Claymont; two daughters, Christine M. Price and husband Tom of Townsend, and Helena Domenic Wills and husband Sean of Exton, Pa.; three stepchildren, Mark Nardone and wife Dina of Wilmington, Catherine Nardone of San Francisco, Calif., and Andrew Nardone of Baltimore, Md.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 1, at noon, at the Sussex County Bible Church, 22516 Harbeson Road, Harbeson, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Military honors will follow the services at church. Private entombment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
