Fulton Ralph Thomas, DP&L retiree

Fulton Ralph Thomas, 88, formerly of Dagsboro and Georgetown, passed away peacefully Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Thomas was born in Elliott Island, Md., Oct. 14, 1924, son of the late Melvin Wheatley and Pearl Damsel (Parker) Thomas. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

Fulton retired from Delmarva Power & Light as a welder in 1983. He was a member of American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro, and a member of the Seaford Moose Family Center Lodge 1728.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Louise (Hughes) Thomas; four sisters, Annie Dayton, Hazel Thomas, Ruthie Thomas and Irene Waller; and three brothers, Melvin "Buddy" Thomas, William "Billy" Thomas and Bernard Thomas.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Emily "Peggy" Foxwell Thomas; four children, Elaine Spicer of Seaford, Sharon Thomas of Georgetown, Bonnie Decker and her husband Clark of Frankford, and Kim Sasada and her husband Mike of Dagsboro; two brothers, Ed Thomas and his wife Freda of Cambridge, Md. and Walter "Tuff" Thomas of Seaford; three grandchildren, Jefferey Scott Decker and his wife Erin of Erdenheim, Pa., Kari Beth Dolinger and her husband Brett of Jacobus, Pa. and Kevin Michael Sasada of Dagsboro; five great-grandchildren, Mason Runkle, Brennan Decker, Anna Runkle, Alana Decker and Madelyn Decker; a special niece, Tammy Phippin Linton and her husband Charlie of Salisbury, Md.; and many nephews and nieces.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Wednesday, Oct. 2,  at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Service, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford,, where friends and family may call after 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Dagsboro Redmen's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Fulton's name to the Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd., Milford, DE 19963.
