Museum of Natural History visits The Jefferson School

Representatives from the Delaware Museum of Natural History recently visited The Jefferson School in Georgetown to engage students with live animals, museum specimens, and puppet shows. The program complemented The Jefferson School’s desert theme for the year, with students learning about American animals with an emphasis on desert animals.

Using a hands-on approach, the trained puppeteers taught students about the wonders of the natural world. Students met new animal friends with amazing and unusual desert adaptations. Third-grade student Abian “Abi” Cadenas-Dominguez said, “The best part was being able to feel the skins and furs. And the crocodile and beaver skulls were cool too!”
