Accent on Travel opens in Rehoboth

Business allows clients to customize dream vacation
October 9, 2013

For those trying to book the perfect vacation at the right price, Accent on Travel in Rehoboth Beach is ready to provide the boarding passes.

The destination planner recently opened in Rehoboth at 37240 Rehoboth Avenue, and celebrated with a grand opening Oct. 4.

“We’re a little bit different than a regular travel agency,” owner Annette Nero Stellhorn said. “We’re more of a consulting and design company. It’s consulting people to make sure they get the perfect vacation for their preferences. We match the right vacation to the right person.”

Stellhorn said Accent on Travel helps plan trips, cruises and flights, from departure through arrival, and trips are customized and organized to suit each traveler. Accent on Travel uses technology to produce memorable vacations, through cruise tracking and destination information that can be sent directly to the client’s phone.

Trips can be planned to all seven continents, Stellhorn said. The value in using the service, she said, is that Accent on Travel can design the vacation, arrange transportation and offer amenities at the destination.

Unlike online services, Accent on Travel works to personalize the travel experience, fitting the right vacation to the client’s expectations, Stellhorn said. Accent on Travel also offers group vacations.

“We work as counselors and consultants and find out what you want on your vacation experience, as opposed to what you think you’re going to see,” she said.

Stellhorn and her husband, Rick, formed Accent on Travel in 1989 in Towson, Md., where they continue to maintain an office. A native of Laurel, Stellhorn was raised in Sussex County and graduated from Del Tech. She moved to Towson with Rick, where she worked in environmental law. A traveler herself, Stellhorn also worked in the travel industry before striking out and founding her own business.

“We saw a tremendous amount of people unreached in this area,” Stellhorn said of opening in Rehoboth. “We truly do believe that travel brings people together and creates memories. It’s an awesome thing,” she said.

Accent on Travel is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, by appointment, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call 302-703-6154 or go to AccentOnTravel.us.
