Barefoot Bride steps into Cape Region

Wedding planners say 'We do' to I do's
October 17, 2013

Expanding north from Ocean City, Barefoot Bride wedding planners recently announced they will coordinate beachfront wedding ceremonies in the Cape Region.

The business, which arrived in Ocean City during the summer, is run by sisters, Brenda Shane and Jodie Noonan, along with a business partner who all have been working in the bridal industry for more than a decade.

With the first Ocean City ceremonies in September, Barefoot Bride planner and ordained minister Brenda Shane said the weddings are turning out beautifully, and she is eager to get the business rolling at the Delaware beaches.

Barefoot Bride offers a variety of packages for seaside ceremonies and partners with area hotels and vendors in case inclement weather brings the festivities indoors instead.

"If somebody wants to get married at the beach, even in the snow, it doesn't matter. We’ll do it," Shane said. "We are open to any beach in Delaware."

Once contracted, the planners will take care of all necessary permits, decorations, photography, seating and cleanup for couples who want to say "I do" at an oceanfront wedding ceremony.

"All of our packages are displayed with the different décor and package specifics," she said. "We kind of have a package to meet everybody’s budget."

Barefoot Bride specializes in planning and photography for oceanfront wedding ceremonies only, but the company has a list of trusted vendors for everything from hair and nails to help with the reception.

"We want to be super good as far as providing an excellent wedding on the beach," Shane said. "There's not a whole lot of businesses that provide actual wedding packages on the beach."
